The Hav Group has been operating its very own management team for more than 20 years, consisting of two operational Units, Hav Chartering and Hav Ship Management(HSNM).
HSMN’s wealth of inhouse expertise ensures the delivery of a dependable, efficient and cost conscious fully integrated vessel management service which includes, technical, crew and commercial vessel management.
As HSMN’s business and reputation grew, an increasing number of vessel owners, public and private listed companies, have chosen to entrust us with the responsibility of managing their vessels for them.

Technical Management
HSMN’ team has extensive experience managing both Hav’s fleet of vessels and those of its commercial clients. These vessels operate in the challenging sea–river segment which is principally served by bulk and feeder vessels ranging between 2,000 and 10,000 dwt. HSMN’s technical management team understands and, together with its network of repair and dry dock facilities, delivers the enhanced levels of safety and efficient well organized maintenance which these vessels’ operations, in the North Sea with frequent port calls and breadth of bulk/project cargoes, dictate.
HSMN’s teams handle all aspects of vessel management, including operations, inspections, repairs, conversions, project development, quality assurance, manning, purchasing, cost control and accounting.
HSMN cooperates closely with the HAV Group’s chartering arm, HAV Chartering, to optimize ship operation and ensure HES, QA/QC, ISM/ISPS compliance. Operation of HSMN vessels is based on quality routines and systems that meet the requirements of the most stringent flag and coastal states, classification rules, regulations and the charterers themselves.
Crewing

HSMN based in Oslo, provides a full crew management service to the HAV Group and its clients.
With a portfolio of approximately 700 highly skilled seafarers, HSM ensures that each managed vessel is manned with qualified and well-trained officers and ratings. All aspects of crew management are dealt with by HSM inhouse, including recruitment, selection, labour/union relations, long-term strategic planning, pool arrangements, training, crew education and the provision of safety-instruction courses, the management of P&I claims relating to officers and ratings, mustering, travel arrangements, provisioning, budgeting, accounting and payroll. HSM’s crewing operation is certified to ISO 9001-2000 standards and holds a DNV certification as a Crew Manning Office.

HAV Chartering AS is an expert provider of chartering services for the dry bulk 2,000 to 10,000 DWT market with a strong reputation for high performance and efficiency.
Hav Chartering is the exclusive broker, chartering manager and vessel operator for all tonnage owned and operated by the HAV Group.
HAV Chartering utilizes HAV’s growing fleet of interchangeable sister vessels, an extensive network of agents and HAV’s dedicated in group technical management and crewing service to ensure cost efficient, reliable, safe and timely delivery of all cargo types.
With a specialist knowledge of the European, Mediterranean and Atlantic Basin markets together with quality vessels and crews we can likely carry any dry cargo.
Our fleet of standardized shortsea vessels are equipped with moveable bulkheads to divide the cargo hold into several divisions, providing the flexibility to carry a wide variety of cargo types and grades.

In addition to commercial management, HAV Chartering also delivers a comprehensive commercial vessel operation service, this service includes fleet management, routing, liaison with agents and bunkering.
Our operations team interacts closely with HAV Ship Management in order to the optimize operation of the managed fleet of vessels.
These synergies enable HAV Ship Management to efficiently and proactive coordinate all functions, including crewing, maintenance and delivery planning.
